My name is Brendan Hofler and I am the owner of Beast Fitness.  I have always been physically active and have played many sports over my life time.  I have skied and snowboarded.  I have played baseball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, and I was a competitive swimmer for about 12 years.

Swimming was the big one.  I think I learned to swim around the age of 4.  However, I did not join a swim team until I was about 10.  I fell in love with it immediately.  I became very competitive when I was a sophomore in high school after I joined a club team.  I even qualified and competed at YMCA Nationals a few times!!!

I went to Clarkson University for Chemical Engineering and I, of course,  joined the swim team.  My Sophomore year, we broke the 800 free relay at states!! That year I also broke the 500 free record.  However, at finals one of my team mates beat my time by a second!

After undergrad, I stayed at Clarkson to get my masters in Chemical Engineering.  Since swimming was over I needed to find something that filled that athletic void.  So I hit the gym, a lot, and got into powerlifting and olympic weightlifting.  Soon after, I joined the intramural Rugby team where I started as a scrum prop.

As I finished my graduate degree, I finally realized that Chemical Engineering wasn't for me and I wanted to something else.  It was around this time that I got into a cross training combination of circuit training, calisthenics, and weightlifting.

In 2015 I began competing in amateur Strongman Competitions.  Since then I have set 8 state records throughout the Northeast including the New York State Record for the Axle Clean and Press at 375!  I have also qualified for Nationals four times.

In recent years I have taken to hiking in the Adirondacks.  I have finished a few smaller hiking challenges including the Tupper Lake Traid and the Saranac 6.  I have also finished 12 of the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks.

After Clarkson, I worked with the owner of Mammoth Lifting (soon to be Beast Fitness). I helped train clients and run cross training classes.  And I loved it!  Eventually, the owner sold the business and Mammoth Lifting became Beast Fitness!

Beast Fitness started off with just a few classes and a few personal training clients and has grown tremendously over the past few years.  The programming for the classes and personal training clients comes from my vast knowledge of fitness, strength, and conditioning.  I examine what the class members need to work on, and I implement different lifts, skill work, drills, and cardiovascular work to help them progress!
